Painting and Glazing
Our Refsan underglaze ready paints can be safely used on both tile and ceramic bisque products. The glazing process enhances both the aesthetic appearance and the durability of the product.
Ceramic Products: When glazing ceramic bisque products, ceramic glazes should be used. Ceramic glazes typically mature between 1040°C and 1050°C. This glaze provides ceramic products with a smooth surface and helps extend their lifespan.
Tile Products: When glazing tile bisque products, tile glazes should be used. Tile glazes are fired at approximately 900°C - 920°C. Tile glazes provide a thin and elegant surface.
Firing
Our products are carefully fired at 1050°C into bisque form. The firing temperature increases the durability of the products and enhances their colors. Different firing times and temperatures can affect the surface characteristics and aesthetic appearance of the products.
Acrylic Paint
Acrylic paints can be used for painting; however, this process is not suitable for food contact. After acrylic painting, applying a protective varnish is recommended. Acrylic painting does not require firing and allows the product to be used decoratively. However, such paints should not be used on items that will come into contact with food.
Possible Variations in Products
In bisque products produced by casting or wheel throwing, variations in thickness and size may occur. In casting, thin or thick areas may form depending on the structural features of the products. These variations reflect the uniqueness of each product and the effects of handcraftsmanship.
The use of different clay types may cause natural tone variations in the products. The color of ceramic and tile bisques can vary depending on the type of clay used. For example, white clay produces bisques in light tones, while red clay offers darker and warmer tones.
Product Durability
Our products become durable through firing and glazing processes. However, care and usage conditions may vary for each product type. Ceramic products, in particular, are more resistant to external factors but require careful handling. Decorations made with acrylic paint may wear over time.
